Case synopsis:

Memunatu Warne, 46, died in a house fire in Greenwich on 6 September 2018.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the property on Centurion Square, Berber Parade, at 1.23am.

Ms Warne, from Sierra Leone, was found dead inside the address after blaze was extinguished. A postmortem gave the cause of death as smoke inhalation.

A man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s managed to escape the address and were taken to hospital for treatment before being discharged.

The Metropolitan Police launched a murder investigation and appealed for witnesses and information.

On 10 October 2018 Kurtis Freeman, 21 (06.10.97) of Steyning Grove, Mottingham; Matthew John, 19 (16.04.99) of Ankerdine Crescent, Shooters Hill; and Martin McArdle, 28 (23.01.90) of Dittersham Road, Mottingham, were charged with conspiracy to murder. Kyle Kendall, 27 (21.01.91) from Lewisham, was charged with the same offence on 16 October 2018 and Elliott Robinson, 21 (05.05.97) of Charminster Road, Mottingham, was charged with conspiracy to murder on 3 November 2018.

They are due to stand trial at the Old Bailey on 8 April 2018.
