Case synopsis:

Lejean Richards, 19, was stabbed to death in Battersea on 5 February 2019.

Police were called to Wolsey Court, off Westbridge Road, at 7.52pm.

Lejean died at the scene at 8.36pm and a post-mortem gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

Detectives launched a murder investigation.

Two men aged 19 and 27 were arrested the same day after attending hospital. A 20 year-old man was also arrested. All were released under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman, leading the investigation, said: “Although we have made three arrests, I would urge anyone with information to come forward and speak with us.

"We have established that there was an altercation at about 19:30hrs that evening near to the basketball court off Randle Close on the Surrey Lane Estate. Did you see or hear this exchange?

"Approximately 15 minutes later, Lejean was fatally stabbed. At this early stage in the investigation, we are keeping an open mind about the motive of the attack.

"The stabbing took place close to a bus stop on Westbridge Road, opposite Wolsey Court, and it is believed the victim was attacked during an altercation involving a group of up to six people.

"We are working to establish whether these two incidents are linked."
