Case synopsis:

Erdogan Guzel, 42, was shot dead outside his bakery in Wood Green on 10 July 2015.

The father-of-two was one of two innocent bystanders gunned down in the drive-by shooting in Lordship Lane at around 5.45pm.

A 51 year-old woman, who was walking past the Kardesler Pastanesi with her daughter during a shopping trip, was also shot but later recovered.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information about the suspects in a dark saloon car which sped off towards Tottenham.

Officers are also trying to trace a group of eight to 10 men who were standing on the pavement nearby to the scene at the time of the shooting.

Renewing appeals on 8 July 2016, Detective Inspector Mark Richards, of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "It is now a year since Erdogan Guzel, a totally innocent man, was shot and killed as he sat outside his family business.

"I believe there are people within the local community who hold the answers to solving this heinous crime. Those people may have previously felt unable to come forward and speak to police, but a year has now passed and Mr Guzel's family is still being deprived justice. I would appeal directly to those people to look into their consciences - by withholding information you are knowingly protecting those responsible for committing this terrible crime.

"I appreciate people may feel apprehensive but I would like to reassure them that there are measures we can take, if needed, to protect your identity."

Nine people aged between 16 and 61 were arrested on 14 July 2015. Eight were released with no further action and a 27 year-old man remains on police bail.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8345 1570 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
