Case synopsis:

Lisa Jane McArity, 50, was found dead at her home in Poplar on 30 December 2018.

Police forced entry to the flat in Salibsury House, Hobday Street, at around 1.20pm after concerns were raised about her welfare.

The victim was pronounced dead at 2.06pm.

A murder investigation was launched after special post-mortem examination on 4 January 2019 revealed the cause of death was compression to the neck.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams said: “While our investigation continues apace and a number of arrests have been made, we remain keen to hear from anyone who may know Linda and can help us piece together her movements in the time before she died.

“We believe Linda may have been attacked some days before she was discovered. Think carefully – did you see her out and about in the run up to Christmas? Did you notice her accompanied by anyone else? If so, you may have information that at the time seemed unimportant but could now have some significance for our investigation.

“My officers are ready to speak to you. Please contact our incident room, where your information will be treated in the strictest confidence.”

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail.

Anyone with information should call the HMCC Incident Room on 020 8345 3775, Tweet @MetCC or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
