Case synopsis:

Malcolm Mide-Madariola, 17, was stabbed to death outside Clapham South tube station on 2 November 2018.

The teenager was taken to hospital after police and paramedics were called to the scene in Balham Hill at 4.35pm.

Malcolm, who lived in Peckham and was a student at a college in Clapham, was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

On 5 November two men aged 17 and 18 were arrested on suspicion of murder. The following day the 17 year-old was charged with murder and the 18 year-old was released on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector John Massey said: "The stabbing in Balham Hill followed an altercation a few minutes earlier involving two small groups of young males near to Clapham South Underground station which at this stage we do not believe was gang-related. However I don't believe anyone involved had travelled on the tube.

"There were a large number of people present when emergency services arrived at the scene, and although many have come forward, I want to ensure that we have spoken to all potential witnesses.

"If you were in the area and saw anything suspicious - in particular if you saw an altercation or anything suspicious on Friday afternoon near to Clapham South station - then please call the incident room."

Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact the Major Incident Room on 020 8721 4868 quoting CAD 5291/02 Nov. To remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
