Case synopsis:

George Barker, 24, was stabbed to death at a gym in Bexley on 14 November 2016.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at the Double K in Stable Lane at around 9.41am.

Mr Barker, from South Darenth, Kent, was pronounced dead a short time later. A post-mortem gave the cause of death as stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.

Detectives launched a murder investigation and appealed for information.

On 9 January 2018 the Metropolitan Police offered a reward of £10,000 for information leading to the arrest of suspect Charles Riddington.

Detectives said Riddington used the alias of Barry Ryan to leave the UK from Manchester Airport for Dusseldorf.

On 9 November 2018 Charles Riddington, 36, (06.08.82), was charged with murder and three counts of possessing an offensive weapon.

He is due to stand trial at the Old Bailey on 19 August 2019.
