Case synopsis:

Wieslaw Kopcynski, 59, died after a suspected assault in Barking.

He was taken to hospital on the evening of 25 March 2018 after being found lying in bed in Stern Close with serious head injuries.

Police were called to investigate shortly after midnight on 26 March.

Mr Kopcynski died at 4.37pm on 27 March 2018.

A post-mortem later found the cause of death was a complex skull fracture.

Detectives launched a murder investigation and said they were treating the victim's home in Stern Close as a crime scene.

Three people, a 48 year-old man and two women aged 34 and 51, were arrested on suspicion of murder.
