1. Kaleem Shaik, 41, an Indian citizen, was found dead at a residential address on Bondway, Vauxhall, Lambeth, at around 8pm on 1 January. He had suffered a stab wound to the neck. A suspect, Daniel Levy, 48 (05.12.1977) of Bondway, Lambeth, was arrested the same day and charged with murder on 3 January.
2. Maliki Sharma, 18, was stabbed in Victoria Road, Feltham, in the London borough of Hounslow, at around 5pm on 12 January. He was taken to hospital with multiple knife wounds but was pronounced dead. A 16-year-old boy was charged with murder on 13 February.
3. Isiayah Henry, a three-year-old boy from Woolwich, died on 19 January, just over two weeks after he was admitted to hospital with serious injuries. Police were called on 3 January after concerns were raised about his condition. On 20 February the boy’s mother Tanisha Henry, 28 (19.04.97) of St Marys Street, Woolwich, and Mikael Williams, 30 (27.02.95) of Beaconsfield Rd, SE17, were charged with murder.
4. Vanessa Pountney-Chadha, 58, was found dead at her home in Applegarth Drive, Ilford, Redbridge, after police were called at 4am on 27 January. A suspect, Dalip Chadha, 57 (10.08.1968), of Applegarth Drive, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
5. Amaal Raytaan, 50, was stabbed in Pound Lane, Willesden, Brent, at around 4pm on 31 January. She died at the scene. Her son, Najiib Raytaan, 25 (08.04.00) of Harlesden Road, NW10, was arrested later the same evening and on 2 February was charged with murder.
6. Mohamed Malki, 33, was found stabbed at a property in Manor Park Road, Harlesden, Brent, after police were called at 6.05pm on 11 February. He died at the scene. The Metropolitan Police launched a murder investigation. A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on 15 February before being released on bail. DI Barry Hart said: “I continue to encourage anyone who has any information in relation to Mohamed’s death to contact officers and assist with our investigation.”
7. Suleyman Nuh, 25, was stabbed in Alvanley Gardens, West Hampstead, Camden, at around 4.27pm on 29 January. He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries on 9 February. A suspect, Dylan Gan, 21 (10.10.04), of Lithos Road, Camden, was arrested on 30 January and charged with attempted murder before Suleyman’s death. On 12 February the Metropolitan Police confirmed they were treating the case as a suspected murder. Gan was charged with murder on 2 March.
8. A baby boy was found unresponsive at a residence in Kingsway, North Finchley, after police and paramedics were called at 11.34am on 30 January. He was taken to hospital for treatment but died on 17 February. The following day, on 18 February, the boy’s parents Dounia Chetaouat, 32 (24.12.1993) of Kingsway, North Finchley and Abdelkader Essid, 44 (08.02.1981) of Clandon Gardens, Finchley, were charged with murder.
9. An 18-year-old man was found stabbed in Rye Lane, near the junction with Heaton Road, Peckham, in the borough of Southwark, after police were called at around 7.09pm on 14 February. He died after being taken to hospital. Police said that the victim had been riding his moped on the evening of the attack and appealed for information from anyone who was near to Rye Lane between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Detective Inspector Christina Clayton, from the Met’s Specialist Crime unit, said: “Peckham Rye is a busy area – densely populated with residents, pedestrians, public transport users and drivers – which means there is a potential for witnesses. We would like to speak to anyone who was in the Peckham Rye area, particularly Rye Lane, on Saturday evening between 18:00hrs and 19:30hrs. If you have any doorbell or dashcam footage from this time in the area, please contact us too.”
10. Lorik Abazi, 22, was found stabbed in Hesterman Way, Croydon, after the emergency services were called at 1.15am on 15 February. Lorik, from Croydon, died after being taken to hospital. Two other men, both aged 21, were also found with stab wounds and treated in hospital. On 19 February Ellis Anim-Annor, 28 (28.08.1997), of Belgravia Gardens, Bromley, was charged with murder. Lorik’s family said: “Lorik was a caring, smart young man with a good sense of humour and his whole future ahead of him. We, his parents, brother, girlfriend, grandparents and extended family and friends loved him very much. A light has gone out in our lives, and we are devastated beyond words by his loss.”
11. Julia Taylor, 57, was found dead at a residence in Lucan Place, Chelsea, after police were called at 12.23pm on 12 February. Two men, aged 54 and 56, were arrested on suspicion of murder on 16 and 17 February. DI Emma Sharp said: “I encourage anyone who may have any information which could support the investigation to contact us.”
12. Angela Clayton, 74, was found dead after police were called to a residence in St George’s Square, Forest Gate, Newham, at around 12.36pm on 17 February. Following a postmortem examination the cause of death was recorded as manual compression of the neck. Her son Richard Clayton, 44 (30.03.81), of St George’s Square, E7, who was known to the victim, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Clayton was charged with murder on 20 February.
13. Gheorghe Trica, 63, was found with stab wounds to the chest at a residence in Westbury Road, Walthamstow, after police were called at 8.59pm on 20 February. He died at the scene. A suspect, Eugeniu Neamtu, 58 (30.07.67), of Westbury Road, was arrested the same evening and on 22 February was charged with murder.
14. Luke Brereton, 40, was stabbed during an alleged attack on The Broadway, Wimbledon, at around 12.37am on 22 February. Luke, from Mitcham, died at the scene. A suspect, Amar Zafar, 35 (24.04.1990) of Cambridge Grove Road, Kingston, was arrested on 22 February and charged with murder.
15. Abdul Said, 29, was assaulted at a mental health facility on Bancroft Road, Mile End, Tower Hamlets, at around 10.09pm on 28 February. He was taken to hospital but died on 5 March. A fellow patient, Yunus Uddin, 27 (25.01.1999), was charged with attempted murder on 2 March. Prosecutors are reviewing the case following Abdul’s death.
16. Elena Poltorac, 71, was found injured at her flat in Bath Road, Hounslow, after police were called at 10am on 1 March. She was pronounced dead at the scene. DCI Matthew Denby said: “We urge anyone who was in the area of Bath Road, who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to come forward. Even small pieces of information can prove vital.”
17. Tai Folkes, 25, was stabbed on Thessaly Road, Battersea, Wandsworth, at around 6.12pm on 2 March. Tai, from Lambeth, was taken to hospital but died the same evening. A suspect, Asher Edwards, 46 (31.12.79), of Hemans Street, Lambeth, was charged with murder on 10 March. Tai’s family said in a statement: “Tai was a much‑loved son, brother and friend. He was a caring young man full of warmth, humour and loyalty. We are devastated by his loss. Tai had his whole future ahead of him, with dreams, plans and so much left to give. The pain of knowing his life has been taken from us in such a cruel and sudden way is something we will carry forever.”
18. Paul Ratledge, 82, was found dead after police were called to an incident at a property in West End Lane, West Hampstead, Camden, at around 11.25am on 5 March. The cause of death was recorded at postmortem examination as stab wounds to the neck and heart. A suspect, Billy O’Reilly, 53 (27.11.1972), of Royal Free Square, Islington, was arrested at the scene and was charged with murder on6 March.
19. A baby girl, aged 18 days, was injured in a fall from a flat on the Peabody estate on Horseferry Road, Westminster, at around 7.30am on 14 March. The infant was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital. Her mother, Zahira Byjaouane, 43 (26.05.82), of Horseferry Road, Westminster, was charged with murder on 15 March.
20. Henrik Slotsaa, 52, was found dead at a residence in Newington Causeway, Elephant and Castle, Southwark, after police were called at 2.28pm on 15 March. A suspect, Joanna Cierpka, 51 (17.01.75) of Newington Causeway, Southwark, was arrested at the scene. She was charged with murder on 16 March.
21. Berkan Demir, 22, was found stabbed at a residence in Lena Gardens, Hammersmith, after police were called at 5.59pm on 15 March. He died at the scene and the cause of death was recorded as sharp force trauma to the left side of the neck. A suspect, Ahmed Said, 31 (01.11.1994), of Lena Gardens, Hammersmith, was charged with murder on 19 March.
22. Farmanullah Sherzad, 26, was stabbed in Abbey Orchard Street, Westminster, at around 10.17pm on 27 March. He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead. Suliaman Tajzai, 18 (01.01.08) of Wesley Road, Leeds, was charged with murder on 31 March.
23. Nahom Medhanie 26, was shot in Chalton Street, near Euston station, within the London borough of Camden, at around 11pm on 28 March. He died at the scene. CCTV footage revealed he was shot several times while sitting in a white Nissan Juke. The suspect travelled to and from the scene by bike. His family said in a statement: “Nahom was more than a son and a brother to us and since his passing it has been the hardest days of our lives. He was funny, honest and would just light up the room with his presence and that’s what we loved most about him.”
24. Doris Innes, 84, was found stabbed outside her home in Red Lion Place, Plumstead/Shooters Hill, Greenwich, after police were called at 8.50am on 1 April. She was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital. Giorgio Pin, 62 (29.01.1964), of Brookhill Road, Woolwich, was arrested after attending a police station shortly after 9.10am and was charged with murder.
25. Eghosa Ogbebor, 14, was shot dead in Lord Warwick Street, Woolwich, at around 3.40pm on 2 April. He died at the scene. Three boys, aged 14, 16 and 16, and two men aged 18 and 19 were arrested on suspicion of murder.
26. Aurelio Mejia, 26, was stabbed outside LAXA lounge nightclub in Ruby Street, Peckham, Southwark, at around 3.54am on 6 April. He died at the scene. Two other men in their 20s were injured. Five men, one aged 18 and four aged 24, were arrested on suspicion of murder later the same day. DCI Neil John said: “This assault occurred outside a busy nightclub, and we’d encourage anyone who has any information, dashcam or mobile phone footage which could support the investigation to contact us.”
27. A man was stabbed in Watney Street, Shadwell, Tower Hamlets, at around 4pm on 7 April. He died after being taken to hospital. A second man in his 50s was also injured.
28. A 21-year-old man was stabbed during a fight at the viewpoint on Primrose Hill, in the London borough of Camden, at around 6.41pm on 7 April. He died at the scene. Another man was also found stabbed on nearby Regent’s Park Road.
