Basic homicide statistics for London show a peak in around 2003, similar to England and Wales as a whole.
We have counted 106 homicides in London for 2022. Although that figure may rise or fall depending on the outcome of investigations, it amounts to an 18 per cent fall from the 127 we counted in 2021.
