great site.Dublin and Ireland is seeing its greatest rise in violent deaths since the 90’s-diabolical murder last week in Tullamore made headline news.
I have been sporadically checking this website throughout the year. Your data is much appreciated.
I am shocked… i came to london in 1967.. was fun town, relocated to buckinghamshire in 1982. I come to london possibly 1 a year less if I can avoid it.
Reading through the numbers and the young people has left me numb, and for every one killed is a family who morns, and how many injuries.
thanks you for sharing this information
Any murder is one too many . Crime is in the top four of Londoners’ concerns . It is terrible that murders continue when Covid has killed more than 15,000 Londoners , including so many front-line workers .
Overall, the murder rate is pretty flat. But the fact that 1/3 of victims (so far) were teenagers I find remarkable (in the worst possible sense). I can’t think of any other city (of which good data is available) that has such a higher ratio. It’s a real failure of London this.
Can only hope the second half of the year is better + something is actually implemented to make sure this frequency is never, ever repeated.
Londoners should wear medieval suits of armour. However, victims would drown if they were thrown into the river.
This act of violence really has to stopped one way or another.. people are losing loved ones daily .. government really has to toughen up on this now… tougher policing..
Can you do this for other UK Cities ?
Unfortunately we don’t have the time and resources to cover other cities in the UK. However, if you are interested in a particular city, you could draw up a rough list based on murder investigations publicised by the relevant police force on their website.
